The Beginnings
Our story began over 100 years ago, in 1912, when Giovanni opened his first artisanal footwear workshop in Grumo Nevano.
Grumo Nevano is a small village in the province of Naples where the art of "making shoes" has always been passed down from generation to generation, from father to son.
Giovanni was one of the best craftsmen in Grumo Nevano; every day, customers would visit his workshop to admire his creations and leave happy and content with their new shoes. The whole village talked about him, and Giovanni became a point of reference for everyone.
Over time, the business was inherited by Vittorio, who, in 1987, opened his first shoe store in Grumo Nevano, TipTap. In over 30 years of activity, it has become an icon in the village.
From a small Workshop to a large Shopping Center
Our company has always represented the art of making shoes, and over the years, it has developed with several points of sale in Campania, always offering footwear from internationally renowned brands that stand out for quality, freshness, and style.
In 2006, Vittorio opened the first NEED store in the Campania Shopping Center in Marcianise, one of the largest centers in Italy. It was the first large store, which today, more than 15 years later, is one of the main shoe stores in Campania.
In 2009, the TipTap store moved to Frattamaggiore, near its town of origin, on the main street, and is a landmark for the people of Frattamaggiore and neighboring towns.
In 2009, the first Melluso Store franchise in Italy was inaugurated, in Centro Campania, a short distance from NEED.
From Stores to the Web
In October 2016, NEED became a web store, and www.needstore.it was born.
Through our web store, we have expanded our borders, and today we sell our footwear worldwide.
